Why Choose Riley Children's
Why Choose Riley Children's
Our program provides comprehensive sickle cell care to patients with sickle cell disease as early as possible and effectively manages their condition to adulthood. The team works with children with sickle cell disease to help them live healthy and active lives while helping families deal with challenges when their child has sickle cell disease.
Since sickle cell is a chronic disease that lasts a lifetime, our experts also specialize in transitioning pediatric patients to adult care. Children with sickle cell can still live healthy and active lives.
Our unique program offerings include:
- Indiana’s only stem cell transplant center for non-malignant transplants.
- The team includes Riley pediatric specialists in
This collaboration with multiple doctors and healthcare providers allows us to coordinate care for medical complications that coincide with sickle cell disease. - With a designated nurse coordinator, our state-funded Transition Program supports adolescent patients to prepare for a smooth adult-care transition.
- Sickle Cell Story Club is offered to provide developmentally appropriate books with positive messages and diverse characters to our patients at every clinic visit.
