The new Maternity Tower at Riley Children's Health provides support and amenities to a variety of birthing options in a comfortable space to keep mother and newborn together. This new state-of-the-art tower provides private labor and delivery space and access to a full range of birthing options – from midwives to the most specialized care available.
The tower was designed so all women and newborns have access to highly skilled care while keeping families together. You can be rest assured that if you discover along your journey to delivery, you require specialized treatment for a high-risk pregnancy or infant with health concerns, we offer the most expert care available 24/7.

Parking
Visitors may self-park in the Simon Family Tower parking garage. This garage offers access to the hospital’s Simon Family Tower entrance and main lobby, which is open 24/7. Parking fees are posted at the garage.
Visitors must check in at an information desk to receive a visitor pass for identification.
Simon Family Tower Garage (recommended option)
The Simon Family Tower Garage is located on Riley Hospital Drive just south of 10th Street. This garage offers easy access to the main lobby of Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. Validated discounted parking is available for parents or guardians of Riley at IU Health patients.

What to Expect
Visitor Information
- You may have up to four visitors in your room during your labor. Additional visitors may wait in the Maternity Tower atrium lobby and rotate into the room 24/7.
- If you have a cesarean delivery, you will be allowed one adult visitor in the operating room and up to two adults in the post-anesthesia care unit. One adult visitor is allowed overnight in the postpartum and antepartum units from 9 pm – 8 am.
- Siblings must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18 years and older), not including the patient at all times while at Riley at IU Health. Additionally, siblings cannot stay overnight in the antepartum or postpartum units.

Childbirth Education Classes
Whether it's your first or third child, we provide childbirth education classes that fit your needs. Some of our classes include:
- Labor and birth preparation such as Lamaze, Cesarean Birth, Teen Childbirth and Labor & Birth for LGBTQ Families
- Baby care preparation with classes covering Newborn Basics, First-Aid and CPR and Car Seat Fitting
- Breast Feeding Preparation
We also offer several parenting support groups, including:

The latest Indiana Maternal Mortality Report found there were 92 pregnancy-associated deaths in 2020 happening during pregnancy or within one year of the end of pregnancy.
