Riley Children's Health brings trusted pediatric emergency care closer to families in Carmel and the surrounding communities. Our emergency care location at IU Health North is open 24/7. That means you can count on us whenever your child needs help.
Here's what families can expect:
- An emergency unit built just for kids. Using the same entrance, our space is right next to the main emergency department but created with children and families in mind.
- A dedicated waiting area and patient rooms. We’ve made it easier and more comfortable for families to move through their visit.
- Highly skilled pediatric nurses and physicians. Pediatric nurses and board certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians are onsite around the clock.
- Support from additional specialists. We have social workers, respiratory therapists, radiology experts and others.
- Child Life Specialists. These team members help ease stress and anxiety for kids and their families during emergency visits.
- Easy access to expert pediatric follow up care. If your child needs to see a specialist, we can connect you directly with nationally recognized Riley Children’s care teams.
- On-site care and smooth transfers if higher level care is needed. We have a pediatric inpatient unit and a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) onsite, and coordinate transfers to Riley Hospital for Children if more advanced care is needed.
