Riley at IU Health Hosts 10th Annual NICU Reunion

More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the 10th annual Riley at IU Health reunion for families and “graduates” of its neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) tomorrow. The reunion, held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. this Saturday, September 14, offers families the chance to celebrate alongside each other, the medical teams who helped save their babies’ lives and the staff who supported them through every stage of the NICU experience.

“It’s incredibly inspiring to see how these babies have grown up and gone on to do things their families might never have thought possible,” said Susan Henderson-Sears, Family Support Director for the Riley at IU Health NICU. “Families want to share their milestones with the doctors and staff who lived the experience with them.”

The event will also include graduates of the NICUs at IU Health University Hospital and IU Health Methodist Hospital. Fun activities will be on the agenda, as will health and wellness education opportunities for families.
