Elizabeth V. Mathews, DO

Dr. Elizabeth V. Mathews, DO, has been practicing medicine since 2019 and joined Riley Children’s Health in 2022 as a pediatrician. Dr. Mathews earned her Master of Science in Biology from Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Marian University. She completed her pediatric residency at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois. During her residency, she provided direct patient care in multiple settings, including inpatient units, the pediatric intensive care unit (ICU), Level III Neonatal ICU and the pediatric emergency room. She also provided well-child and sick-visit patient care in the resident outpatient clinic, supervised teams of intern residents and participated in community patient care via mobile clinics and subspecialty pediatric clinics. Dr. Mathews is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

As a child, Dr. Mathews had an interest in science, the human body and diseases. She always knew she wanted to become a doctor. It was during medical school that she decided she wanted to become a pediatrician. She enjoys building relationships with and advocating for children, parents and families. Her hope is to continue fostering those relationships to make sure her patients are growing up healthy. What brings Dr. Mathews the most joy is working with children of all ages, from infants to adolescents."

At a first visit with Dr. Mathews, she will want to get to know you, your child and your family. This includes understanding your values and priorities, to partner together to keep your child healthy and achieve their health goals.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Mathews enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, traveling and cooking.
