About the Survey
We are committed to providing an exceptional experience to every patient.
As part of our commitment to our patients, IU Health posts providers’ patient experience ratings and comments online. IU Health also publishes patient experience ratings for locations. All ratings are submitted by actual patients.
How is the score calculated?
The provider and location ratings are calculated by an average of responses to the “likelihood to recommend” question.
Who receives the survey?
We survey all patients who provide us a valid email and/or phone number within 24 to 48 hours after their visit. The nationally recognized Patient Experience Survey is independently conducted.
How are comments recorded?
As part of the survey, we ask patients "What is the primary reason for your score?". Before publishing, the comments are reviewed for profane, incoherent and defamatory language. Comments are also updated when necessary to remove personal health information (PHI).
Why don't we see patient ratings and comments for every doctor or location?
We believe more data provides a more accurate picture. That’s why we require at least 30 patient surveys before we post ratings and comments for a provider or ratings for a location. Over time, the number of rated providers and locations will increase.
