Amy N. Boone, MD

Dr. Amy Boone is an academic specialist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a focus on surgical and medical gynecologic care for pediatric and adolescent patients. She is the only physician in Indiana to have completed a pediatric and adolescent gynecology fellowship. As a result, she dedicates significant time to teaching medical students, residents and fellows in both the clinic and operating room, helping expand access to this specialized field.

In addition to general adult obstetrics and gynecology, her clinical interests include:

• Congenital anomalies of the reproductive tract
• Premature ovarian insufficiency
• Hypoestrogenism
• Menstrual health in athletes
• Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome
• Menstrual dysfunction

She is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young patients while partnering with them and their families through each stage of development—from childhood through adolescence and into adulthood.

She notes, “My goal is to create a space where patients feel heard, respected and comfortable discussing even the most sensitive concerns.”

Many of Dr. Boone’s patients have complex medical or family histories that require nuanced care. She collaborates closely with specialists across disciplines to provide coordinated, personalized treatment tailored to each patient’s needs and goals.

Outside of work, she enjoys Mardi Gras festivities, cheering on her favorite sports teams, playing tennis and making memories with her husband and two children.

Education, Professional Accreditation and Certification

Dr. Amy Boone attended the University of South Alabama College of Medicine after graduating from Louisiana State University. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of South Alabama. She went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric and adolescent gynecology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is board certified by ABOG with a focused practice certification in pediatric and adolescent gynecology.
