When your child needs anesthesia or pain control for surgery or any reason, specialized experience is critical. At Riley at IU Health, your child is in capable, compassionate hands. Your child’s safety, well-being and comfort are our highest priorities.
Safe, Effective Anesthesia and Pain Control for Your Child
Every day, our anesthesiologists treat children facing all kinds of health challenges, from minor conditions to life-threatening illnesses and injuries. We work with specialists throughout the hospital and support every department and service that requires anesthesia. We work with children who need to be calm and still for X-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or other procedures. We also offer anesthetic care for children with acute and chronic pain. In addition, we have access to the latest equipment and technology to help keep your child safe and comfortable and to accommodate any health issues or needs.
Riley at IU Health is home to Indiana’s largest team of doctors who specialize in anesthesiology for children, from newborns to teenagers. Our specialists are trained and experienced in preventing or minimizing pain and anxiety for children during surgery or other medical procedures, and we know how to help put families at ease during stressful times.
Many of our pediatric anesthesiologists have additional training in anesthesia or pain control for specific ages, conditions or procedures. We work closely with surgeons, pediatricians, radiologists, intensive care specialists, orthopedists, gastroenterologists and other professionals to provide integrated, effective care for every patient.
