Vivian Eagle, a multi-sport athlete, knew something was wrong when she couldn’t lift her left leg during her high jump event. A few visits to doctors led to the diagnosis of osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, in her left leg. She had to go through chemotherapy and major surgery on her leg at Riley Hospital for Children. Vivian says one of the most difficult parts about her journey was learning she had to give up the sports she loved. But, she was able to endure the hard days in the hospital and ring the bell to mark the end of her treatment last fall. Now on the other side of the experience, Vivian feels her cancer battle allowed her to become a stronger individual.
