Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis is home to Indiana’s longest-standing ACS-verified Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. Our Level I Pediatric Trauma Center includes:
- Pediatric fellowship trained general/trauma surgeons, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, radiologists, critical care and emergency medicine physicians available in-house 24/7
- Four pediatric trauma bays equipped with all technology and supplies required for procedures, ultrasounds, intubation and monitoring; all other non-trauma ED rooms are acuity adaptable
- The ORs are staffed 24/7 by a minimum of two in-house teams and three teams on call; a dedicated trauma OR is always ready for emergency cases
- Available whole blood in the ED for resuscitation; and specialists can review imaging in advance through a robust radiology cloud system
- Riley Hospital is a Platinum Level Center of Excellence for ECMO by ELSO
- Level I ABA verified Pediatric Burn Center with specially trained pediatric burn surgeons and 24/7 OR availability for burn surgery
- Aircraft can land on helipads at Riley Hospital and the Riley Outpatient Center, with direct elevator access from the Riley Hospital helipad to the ED, OR, or PICU
- LifeLine provides both air and ground transportation services; EMS partners may request LifeLine to remain on standby at any time (there is no charge or penalty if the request is cancelled)
