About Me
Trisha Neidlinger is a board certified and licensed genetic counselor in the state of Indiana. As a genetic counselor, she specializes in discussing and ordering genetic testing for various neurodevelopmental disorders including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Developmental Delay
- Intellectual Disability
- Cerebral palsy
She also provides in-depth yet understandable conversations about genetic testing results for new or established patients with rare neurodevelopmental genetic conditions. At these appointments time is spent describing the features or symptoms, inheritance pattern, recurrence risk to have another child with the same condition, and resources are provided.
Trisha graduated from Dominican University in River Forest, IL with a degree in Biochemistry and went on to graduate with her Masters in Genetic Counseling from Indiana State University in 2018. Following graduation, she started her career working for IU Health Physicians in the Medical and Molecular Genetics Clinics. In 2022 she transitioned to seeing patients in the Department of Developmental Medicine. She has been a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and the Indiana Network of Genetic Counselors since 2018.
Her interests include increasing access to genetic services, educating and mentoring students, and contributing to research to better understanding neurodevelopmental genetic conditions and what patients/families experience.
