Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health flu-related visitor restrictions have been lifted. However, because babies, especially those who are ill or premature, are at higher risk of serious complications if they get the flu, visitation restrictions are still in place for all Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) until further notice.

Riley at IU Health is proud to once again be distinguished as the only nationally ranked children’s hospital in Indiana by U.S. News & World Report, which released its 2015-16 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings today. Riley Hospital at IU Health ranked in ten out of ten pediatric specialties, including:

Riley at IU Health is one of only 21 children’s hospitals to have ranked in all 10 pediatric specialties.

“This distinction is reflective of our team’s skill and compassion in treating our patients, and the incredible impact it has on the lives of Indiana’s children and families,” said Paul R. Haut, MD, interim president and chief medical officer at Riley at IU Health. “From the routine to the unforeseen, the level of care and commitment that each child receives is what really distinguishes Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.”

U.S. News introduced the Best Children’s Hospitals rankings in 2007 to help families of sick children find the best medical care available. The rankings provide an array of detailed information about each hospital’s performance. Further details on the rankings can be viewed online and in the U.S. News “Best Hospitals 2016” guidebook, which will be available in August.
