To You, Our Valued Parents, Patients and Caregivers:

It’s been a long road, but we’re in a new phase. Like you, we’re getting back to our routines. And we’ve been encouraged to hear that many of our patients feel more comfortable coming in for care.

During this phase, we will share updates with you every other week, instead of weekly. At the same time, we continue to closely monitor the situation. And we’re as committed as ever to keeping you safe and informed, rest assured.

FAQs about appointments and safety at Riley Children’s Health

Q: Can I make an appointment with a primary care doctor or specialist for my child?

A: We are ready to take care of you for whatever care you need, from annual check-ups with your child’s primary care doctor to specialist visits with one of our many nationally ranked specialists.

We’re seeing patients through virtual visits or in-office, based on the parent or caregivers situation and comfort level. Call your child’s doctor or find a provider, and we will recommend a care setting based on your needs.

Q: What is the Riley Safe Care Pledge?

A: The Safe Care Pledge outlines our commitment to ensuring the safety of our patients, team and communities at each of our locations. It includes:

  • A universal mask policy
  • Limited waiting room time
  • Social distancing
  • Continually disinfecting
  • Restricted visitor policies

You can find more information about the steps we’re taking to keep our spaces safe and plan your visit.

Q: Are you changing your visitor policies at Riley Hospital for Children?

A: While you may have seen that IU Health hospitals across the state are updating their visitor policy to include one visitor per inpatient, Riley will maintain its current state for visitor restrictions, because it already includes one visitor, with exceptions for two in other circumstances. Limiting visitors helps keep patients, families and team members safe. Read more about our visitor policy.
