Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health flu-related visitor restrictions have been lifted. However, because babies, especially those who are ill or premature, are at higher risk of serious complications if they get the flu, visitation restrictions are still in place for all Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) until further notice.
Dr. Erin Vilano, Riley Children’s Health Adolescent Gynecologist, will lead fresh, unique presentations for moms and daughters to explore questions and issues of the physical changes involved in puberty, menstrual cycle and hygiene in a fun and engaging way.
Utilizing the national curriculum, Girlology, started by two physicians nearly 12 years ago in South Carolina, Dr. Vilano will lead two forums that allow girls, alongside a parent, to learn accurate, yet age-appropriate information about puberty, so they can face what’s ahead with greater confidence. This event is aimed for audiences of 4th and 5th grade girls and a parent.
